Forces associated with aerialist performance.   This session will unpack some of the new research in this evolving discipline.  A practical demonstration from two established industry riggers and a performer.

Session 4A

Accessibility in Theatre.  A review of current standards for new theatres from a patron and performer/practitioner perspective, and the challenges for refurbishing existing spaces.


Session 4B

Sustainable design and production practices in theatre.  Award winning theatre and installation designer Marcus Mcshane discusses the sustainability of his collaborative designs and productions with some colleagues. An opportunity to learn and consider an approach to design that reduces our industries impact on the environment..


Session 4C

Networking 101.  Plug & Play Show delivery over ethernet - VLAN's, Bandwidth and IP's.  Always a popular topic at our conferences - delivered by control network guru Nick Abel.


5.10pm  : ETNZ AGM - in Drama 1. All members are welcome and AGM documents will be circulated separately.

5.30pm  : Tradeshow closes   

6.20pm : Bus Departs for Conference Dinner.  Space for 30 passengers.

A presentation on the next generation of RF Wireless Microphone technology and what this means for live audio applications in Australasia.

Venue Engineering and Stage Machinery.  Venue engineering has gone through a period of rapid change in  Australasia over the last few years. What will this mean for new and existing facilities? Some perspective offered from a contractor currently engaged in stage machinery installation in the region.

Session 7A

Production, paperwork, people, product and the performance.  This session covers all the Ps. What paperwork is being provided by the production to the venue? And what are venues currently providing to deliver the performance? A current update from some practicing production personnel.


Session 7B

A case study about the new King College  Toi Manawa and the Audio Visual networking installation.


Session 7C

A presentation on forces on temporary demountable truss structures from a trussing and staging specialist. Gain an understanding on loading figures, dynamic loads, ballast loads, and more.

Session 8A

Session to give feedback and suggestions for the ETNZ Guides.  Rigging, Language, Well Being and Safe Working.


Session 8B

Metal Health and Bystander intervention.  A presentation by Merlin Mills from The Listening Commission - provider of backstage support services and the people behind the Be Kind / Don't be a Dick initiative.


Session 8C

Immersive Audio Systems – Promoting audience engagement & maximizing venue flexibility


4.30pm : Conference Wrap up Session

5.30pm - 6.45pm  : Conference Wrap up drinks  - Location will be posted on the conference noticeboard.
