Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stage lighting and events, along with experience in electrical systems. As a Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and preparing our equipment for events, ensuring everything is in top working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, test, and maintain stage lighting, audio-visual, and other event equipment to ensure it is operational and safe for use.
- Repair Work: Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, including lighting fixtures, cables, power distribution units, and other event-related hardware.
- Event Preparation: Assist in the preparation and packing of equipment for events, ensuring all necessary gear is available and in working order.
- Workshop Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment, including managing inventory and ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.
- Electrical Work: Perform basic electrical tasks related to event equipment, such as wiring, soldering, and electrical testing, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Logistics Support: Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment for events, including driving trucks as required.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support during event setups and breakdowns as needed, working closely with the event crew to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a workshop or event production environment, with a focus on stage lighting and electrical systems.
- Licenses: A valid license (Class 1 or higher) is required , Class 2 would be useful .
- Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of tools and equipment related to stage lighting and event setups.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve technical issues quickly.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to maintaining and preparing equipment, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Electrical certification or relevant technical qualifications are a plus.
- Event Experience: Previous experience in a live event environment, with a good understanding of event logistics and timelines.
