Venue Technician role and duties.

The fundamental role is to assist the Technical Manager in the utilisation of facilities at the Isaac Theatre Royal. This role is responsible for liaising with clients, Technical Manager and theatre staff prior to and during events to ensure that facilities, equipment and physical setup meet the requirements of the event as well as the client’s contractual agreements. You will have responsibility to and be under the direction of the Technical Manager.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Technical Manager but also has a fundamental responsibility to the clients, artists, as in turn extending to casual staff and contractors.

The standard hours for this role are 9-5 however the ideal candidate must be able to work nights and weekends if and when require by productions.

Skills and Experience

Minimum qualifications and experience include:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparative role
• Good understanding of sound, lighting, rigging, staging and video technology
• Dealing effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise, and firmness
• Strong leadership within a team
• Clear communication and organisational skills
• Strong reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and H&S at work act
• Event & Entertainment qualification L3 or higher is desirable
