New Zealand is going through an unprecedented time with COVID-19 and an Alert Level 4 lockdown that has seen the Event and Entertainment sector almost completely shut down, and for a timeframe that is currently unknown.
It has been recognised that the Entertainment and Event Technology industry has been severely affected, and ETNZ is gathering information to assist in representing the industry through this situation.
The survey was hosted on the ETNZ website and details were posted to ETNZ’s Facebook Page on the 14th March 2020. This was followed up with a subsequent updated survey on the 20th March 2020 and closed on the 8th April 2020. Between those dates New Zealand went from considering limiting the size of gatherings to less than 500 and tightening border controls, through to complete lockdown with all non-essential businesses to cease trading.
The purpose of the survey was to gain an industry representative measurement to support our communications with government and other industries. We were also keen to understand clearly what our membership would like ETNZ to focus on in our direct deliveries to the community at this time, as well as external advocacy directives.
The following document uses the data derived from both the initial survey and the second survey using just the initial responses. It is a summary of some of the key data collected as returned from the survey responses. Further data will be summarised and made available on our website.
