When: 1000 – 1545 Saturday July 4th
What: Three classroom based workshops aimed at performers and technicians across all experience levels. Attend whichever sessions you feel will be relevant to you.
1000-1130 – Workshop One: QLab 101 – The Basics – Aimed at performers & newcomers to the software. Get to grips with what it takes to program a basic show in QLab, and why it’s a better solution than alternatives.
1200-1330 – Workshop Two: Introduction to intermediate level features for established users and technicians, as well addressing some best practises and pet peeves of operators.
1415-1545 – Workshop Three: QLab advanced features, including the use, design and implementation of show control systems and using AppleScript to expand the capabilities of the software.
How Much: A small Koha donation or pack of biscuits is appreciated to cover venue electricity costs. Spaces are strictly limited and registration is essential.
Who: Spencer is an Auckland based entertainment technician, designer, stage & production manager who’s been using QLab for most every project he’s been involved in since discovering it some years ago. He’s designed and programmed QLab showfiles for interactive art installations, theatre, timecoded dance comedy shows, and large scale musicals.
